NEWARK, Del. (AP) – Delaware State Police are investigating a motorcycle crash in Newark that killed a 33-year-old Middletown man.
Authorities said in a news release that the crash happened early Saturday morning. The unidentified man was traveling east on Delaware
Route 273 west of Old Ogletown Road when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve.
Police say the motorcycle traveled to a grassy area before striking a road sign. The man was ejected from the bike and struck a telephone pole. Police say he was not wearing a helmet and a passing motorist discovered the collision at 5:35 a.m. Saturday.
Authorities say the man’s body has been turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Wilmington for an autopsy.
