Man Carrying 3 Large Knives Arrested On Streets Of Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – A man armed with three knives was arrested on Saturday afternoon in Wilmington.

Police officers Jesus Caez and Michael Barrett were on patrol on the 500 block of W. 5th Street just before noon when they came across a man armed with two large butcher knives. As the officers approached the suspect, he appeared aggressive and was yelling, “Whoever wants it can come get it!”

The police officers ordered the suspect, 33-year-old Kevin I. Cook of Wilmington, to drop the weapons, and they were able to arrest him. A search of the suspect revealed a third large cutting instrument tucked into the waistband of his pants.

Cook was taken into police custody on charges of Aggravated Menacing, Reckless Endangering and Possession of a Deadly Weapon. He is undergoing a mental evaluation at Wilmington Hospital.
