Flyers Open 2011-12 Season Tonight in Boston

BOSTON, Mass. (CBS) – After a busy and interesting off-season, the Philadelphia Flyers are ready to drop the puck on a new season.

The Flyers have their work cut out for them in this first game, as they visit the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins tonight.

The Flyers have a much different look this season. Gone are familiar names like Jeff Carter and Mike Richards, while new faces like Ilya Bryzgalov (photo) and Wayne Simmonds are getting used to life in the orange-and-black sweaters.

KYW’s Matt Leon spoke with Sam Carchidi, Flyers beat writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer, to get his insights into the team and what fans should expect in the 2011-2012 season.
