11-Year-Old Boy Rushed To Hospital After West Philadelphia Hit-Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An 11-year-old boy was rushed to an area hospital after he was struck by a car Sunday evening.

At about 8 p.m., police say the victim was riding his skateboard near 65th Street and Greenway Avenue when he was hit.

According to authorities, the driver stopped, got out of the car and saw the child on the ground, but got back into the vehicle and left the scene. Police believe the vehicle is a dark-colored BMW or Mercedes sedan.

The child was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. His condition is unknown at this time.

Philadelphia police are investigating.
