LANSDALE, Pa. (CBS) — The owner an 18-wheeler is behind bars and police are searching for another man after they seized more than 200 pounds of marijuana during an early morning drug bust this week in Lansdale, Montgomery County.
Authorities say Andre Lue of Lansdale is behind bars on $500,000 cash bail facing numerous drug charges. They say Lue owns a tractor-trailer that was in a shopping center parking lot early Wednesday morning with a pickup truck.
An alert cop noticed suspicious activity, but when he tried to get closer, the pickup fled.
Police later found the truck and seven large bails of marijuana. They also found bales of pot in the tractor-trailer.
Prosecutor Kevin Steele says the drugs are worth nearly a quarter of a million dollars.
“Patrol officer who saw something out of the ordinary and his instincts were absolutely correct and it led to a large seizure,” said Steele.
Police say the investigation is continuing, but Lue had routes from California to the East Coast. The driver of the pickup is still being sought.
