HORSHAM, Pa. (CBS) - The residents of Horsham are getting a first peek at what the Willow Grove Naval Air Station may look like several years down the road.
Planning consultants presented the Horsham Land Reuse Authority with three proposals this week, each featuring a mix of options that include open space, townhouses and single family homes, office parks and light industrial warehouses.
The authority will now study the plans and draw up a final proposal that will be presented to the Navy for approval. Particularly appealing to State Rep. Todd Stephens is a town center component.
“I often joke – we don’t have any place to hold a parade and it would be great to have kind of a walkable village with retail and restaurants and things like that that people could walk through and just kind of enjoy the community,” said Stevens.
Stephens stresses that it’s still very important for the community to continue to weigh in with their thoughts on the redevelopment of the nearly 900 acre site because what’s ultimately decided will last for generations to come.
