The "Dear Harry" Organization Gets Sneak Preview Of Statue Despite Rain Out

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The debut of the Harry Kalas statue at Citizens Bank Park will have to wait until Tuesday, because of Sunday's rain.

Members of the "Dear Harry" Organization - the folks who created the statue of Harry Kalas - tailgated outside the ballpark, only to learn the statue unveiling was postponed (see related story).

"It's a little disappointing to say the least. I never pictured rain when I pictured the unveiling of this beautiful statue," says Suzanne Norris, the group's development director.

Members of "Dear Harry" and the Kalas family were there for a private look at the statue, though. Harry's son Kane says sculptor Larry Nowlan captured the essence of his dad.

"The facial features, especially the clothing, the loafers -- he has it down to a "T."

The official unveiling is now scheduled for 6:40 Tuesday evening before the Phils-Diamondbacks game.
