New Online Course Educates College Kids About The Horrors Of Binge Drinking

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Colleges around the country are turning to a new resource to help students cut down on binge drinking. It's an online course.

Nationally, alcohol related deaths increased from 1,440 in 1998 to over 1,825 in 2005. In 2001, it was estimated that about 600,000 full time students at four year universities were injured in alcohol related incidents. 97,000 were victims of alcohol related sexual assault or rape.

There are ways colleges are trying to deal with it. One of the most effective might be a new program that tells people about the problems that can occur and put the student in real life quandaries; trying to see how they would react to things. By doing that, it allows them to face problems before they occur.
