1 Dead, Pregnant Woman Injured After Shooting In Port Richmond

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in the city’s Port Richmond neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

At about 3:30 p.m., police responded to the 2200 block of East Ann Street for reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they found one woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A 22-year-old female, who police say is seven months pregnant, was shot in the leg. She was transported to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

Police are searching for a male suspect who fled on foot. There is no description available for the suspect at this time.

Authorities have not yet disclosed a possible motive for this shooting.

    Why is there no update on this daytime shooting/murder of a young mother? Neighbors are afraid! Seems like there is plenty of information circulating about this, but still no results. The bold and brazen daytime shooter should take priority because I guarantee this guy will strike again. Neighbors are reporting having seen him in the neighborhood last night! Come on and do your job to protect the neighborhood! Produce some results so the family can bury their loved and have some closure.
