A/C Unit Stolen From Outside Presbyterian Church In Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Southwest Philadelphia church is now the victim of the heat wave.

The Southwestern Presbyterian Church in the 2500 block of South 70th Street in Philadelphia is minus one air conditioning unit thanks to excessive heat and crime.

Church secretary Carolyn Polsz says her son Kenneth went to turn on the air conditioning Sunday morning when he discovered one of the central air units outside the church had been stolen.

There are usually two units outside, but the one that wasn't stolen was also disabled during the theft.

Luckily with a few window air conditioning units and fans, they were able to hold church services Sunday morning.

Polsz says the church was burglarized a few years ago when computers were stolen.

Police have no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
