West Philadelphia Teen Mom Charged With Leaving Baby In Bathtub

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A 16-year-old West Philadelphia girl is under arrest for allegedly leaving her six-month-old baby in a bathtub full of water.

Police in the Special Victims Unit say the young mom was giving her baby a bath when she heard an argument elsewhere in the house and left the baby in the tub at about 10 PM Sunday night.

When she came back, the baby was fully submerged and unresponsive.

The baby boy was rushed to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where it was listed in critical condition.

The mother, whose name was not released because of her age, now faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.

i don’t even want to use the saying “babies having babies” because guess what babies don’t have sex.
i cannot believe anyone would walk away from a small child in a tub. come on common sense it only takes a second for the child to slip under the water.
i hope the child recouperates and the idiot mother (!) is charged and serves time for this stupidity.
and Linda you are right but the mother shouldn’t consider but be forced to use birth control – she can’t take care of 1 no need to bring anymore into the world.

This is what happens when teenagers have babies!!!

ANyone with even half a brain knows that you do not place a six month old
in the bathtub and then leave the baby unattended!!!!

This young lady should seriously consider BIRTH CONTROL! She does not need to bring anymore kids into the world since she has shown that she is not capable of taking care ot them.

She needs to be charged with attempted MURDER-not reckless endangerment!!!
