EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) - A pair of 12-year-old boys have been arrested by New Jersey state troopers in South Jersey, accused of throwing rocks and debris off an overpass into traffic on the Atlantic City Expressway.

Police say this has been going on for nearly two weeks.  An eight-year-old girl riding in a Greyhound bus suffered cuts to her face from broken glass when a rock shattered a window she was sitting near. No other injuries have been reported.

Police say this sort of activity will not be tolerated because it’s very dangerous and could lead to fatal car crashes.

The boys, arrested last night, face numerous charges including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and criminal mischief.

Any similar incidents should immediately be reported to police, officials said.

These kids should be locked in a jail cell for one night to give them a serious dose of reality. They need to learn that they will be held accountable for their actions and that there are consequences for what they did. The parents also should be fined. Nip this in the bud now before they get older and amuse themselves in even more dangerous ways!

I agree. When I was 12 the last thing we wanted to do was get chastised by not only our Parents, but by our Grandparents, and, if the neighbors got to you first, then they chastised you and then took you home to your Parents. Back then, the words ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ were true and trusting words. But then, it was a different world back then too.

Lots of community service, a HEFTY FINE for the parents, and a good old fashioned serious grounding should do it. If not, then go back to the old fashioned ways and take them to the wood shed …. or the garage and stick the paddle to their behinds. On second thought, why wait? Do it all right now!!

      I concur!
