PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A local church is holding a “Fit for Eternity” walk/run on Saturday, July 23rd in Germantown.
Five years ago, the membership of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Germantown updated the old Baptist tradition of walking from its old building to its new building by making the event an annual walk that focuses on health issues. Reverend Ann Colley is associate pastor of Evangelism at Enon.
“When you have diabetes, or when you have hypertension, or when you have cardiovascular issues, and when you’re overweight, or when you are not taking care of your vessel, it really prohibits or hinders you from being all that you can be, whether that be spiritual or physical, to do all that you can do,” says Reverend Ann Colley, Associate Pastor of Evangelism at Enon.
Proceeds from the July 23rd walk will go toward organizations that help the underinsured and uninsured. For more info, go to www.enontab.org.
