Delaware County Couple Spends Honeymoon In Jail Following Drug Bust

MARCUS HOOK, Pa. (CBS) - A Marcus Hook, Delaware County couple spent their honeymoon in jail following a drug bust.

It's one of the largest drug busts in the history of the town. Authorities seized 140 bags of heroin from the home of 27-year-old Dominic DiGiacomo and 25-year-old Nina Bates on July 3.

Mayor Jay Schiliro officiated the wedding for the couple the day before the bust.

"I knew he was definitely being watched, but when we were going to make the arrest, I had no idea. It was bad timing on their part, good timing on ours."

Just in time for them to spend their honeymoon in the comfort of Delaware County prison.

Authorities had been investigating the couple since May. They face multiple charges including the intent to distribute heroin.
