Governor Corbett Signs More Than 4 Dozen Bills Into Law

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) - Governor Corbett last week signed more than four dozen bills into law.

In typical fashion, state lawmakers dumped a bucket of bills on Governor Corbett's desk along with the budget just before they left town for the summer. Among the new laws is a measure that will allow a dealer to sell you a motorcycle on Sundays. Another measure increases the penalties for homicide while boating under the influence, while another increases penalties for public officials who violate the open meeting and other requirements of the Sunshine Act. Another makes HIV testing a routine part of general medical care, as recommended by the CDC, but patients may refuse to be tested. And as expected, the Gov. Corbett signed a bill granting immunity from charges of underage drinking and possession of alcohol for minors who call 911 and stay with another person who becomes ill from too much alcohol.
