HARLEYSVILLE, Pa. (CBS) — A Harleysville-based non-profit is working hard to collect new and gently used baseball equipment to send to those in need around the world.
David Rhode is the executive director of Pitch in for Baseball, which for years has been bringing the gift of donated baseball equipment to those who need it.
The concept has taken off, and Pitch in for Baseball sends equipment all around the world. They have helped baseball leagues in Joplin, Missouri, which was devastated by the tornado, and will soon be sending equipment to areas of Japan that are still dealing with the aftermath of the tsunami and nuclear disaster.
