Suspect Arrested In Glenside Home Invasion

GLENSIDE, Pa. (CBS) – A suspect was taken into custody following a home invasion and a police chase that began in Montgomery County and ended in Philadelphia.

The incident happened at about 11 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 2300 block of Oakdale Avenue in Glenside.

According to investigators, Leroy Wilson Dade entered the home and as he was leaving, he was confronted by a police officer.

A struggle ensued at which point Dade struck the officer with his car.

He then fled the scene in his car, but was eventually taken into custody by Abington police in Philadelphia.

The officer was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Investigators say Dade stole jewelry, silverware and electronics from the home, which was occupied at the time of the burglary.

The incident remains under police investigation.
