Cherry Hill Gas Station Attendant Stabbed During Robbery

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- The search is on for a suspect who stabbed a gas station attendant during an armed robbery in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Authorities say a man wearing a ski mask walked into the Gulf Station at1000 East Rt. 70 at about 10:48 p.m. Sunday and demanded money.

Police say when the employee refused to give the suspect money a physical altercation ensued.

During the fight, the attendant suffered a stab wound, but was able to strike the suspect in the head and rip off his mask.

The suspect then ran from the gas station without getting any proceeds.

The victim was taken to Cooper University Hospital for treatment and is listed in good condition.

Anyone with information on the suspect, described as a Hispanic male, approx. 25 years old, 5'4", medium build, clean shaven, short hair, black shirt and jeans, is urged to contact Cherry Hill police at 856-488-7828.
