PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for those responsible for setting more than a half a dozen cars on fire on one block early Wednesday morning.
The vandalism happened at about 4:30 a.m. in the 5300 block of Georges Lane in the city’s Wynnefield section.
According to investigators, the vandal(s) set seven cars on fire along the same block. Five of the seven cars sustained significant damage. Two of the cars suffered minor damage because one of the residents ran out and used water to extinguish the fire.
The Fire Marshal and investigators were at the scene surveying the damage and tested the cars for evidence and possible accelerants.
The incident remains under police investigation.
