One Man Killed, A Second Critical In Kingsessing Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A shooting late Saturday night in Southwest Philadelphia’s Kingsessing section has claimed one life and left one person hospitalized.

Police say the shots rang out just before midnight near 53rd and Malcolm Streets. The gunfire left a 21-year-old man dead. A second man was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Detectives say both men were sitting inside a car when they became the target of a gunman who fled the scene. Police have not ruled out a link to drug activity in the area.

Drug activity? In SW Philadelphia? I can hardly believe it. Next you’ll tell me that all involved were black males between the ages of 18-25. Shocking!

Do the words “too soon” mean anything to you?

Who raised you? I had barely any upbringing at all, and even I have better manners than to be so callous about the death of a 21-year-old. Disgusting.
