Popular Antiques Fair Moves To Philadelphia Expo Center

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. (CBS) - This weekend will see the return of a popular local event-- the Antique City collectors' fair. The fair-- long-held in Atlantic City-- has moved to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.

"We have everything from furniture to fine art, jewelry to jukeboxes, Mickey Mouse to Mickey Mantle," said Norman Shautz, director of the fair.

Shautz built his love of antiques into what he claims was the largest collectors show in the world, through the 80's and 90's in Atlantic City, when he ran the Atlantique City fair. He sold the franchise in 2001 but he says retirement hasn't agreed with him, so he's reviving the show and has signed up 300 dealers from 27 states and five countries.

"It's put the fun back in collecting. That's why we call it the happiest show on earth."

Shautz says hot items this year are character collectibles such as Batman action figures, wildlife art, mechanical devices and jewelry. The show is Saturday and Sunday at the Expo Center in Valley Forge.
