1 Dead, Another Critically Injured After Fairmount Park Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – One man is dead and another is critically injured after a shooting in the city’s Fairmount Park neighborhood.

Philadelphia police were called to Belmont Mansion Drive and Army Road a little before 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Police say the two males were at a barbecue when a person in a truck fired on a group of people attending the event and then fled the scene.

One man received a gunshot wounds to the chest, stomach and leg. Authorities say he is in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

According to police, the second victim was shot in the stomach and hand and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police were able to locate the vehicle and apprehended the suspected shooter.
