Driver Questioned In Port Richmond Hit-Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A cab driver is being questioned in connection with a hit and run in the Port Richmond neighborhood early Thursday morning.

Authorities say it was about midnight when a blue and white taxi hit a pedestrian who was crossing the street in front of the Aramingo Diner on Aramingo Avenue.

The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in guarded condition.

According to investigators, the driver turned himself into police Thursday afternoon. Police say the driver told them he thought he hit a deer.

The suspected cab was located at a repair shop in Mantua and was damaged.
