Good News For Chester County Residents In Need Of Dental Care

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A discount card program is now available to help Chester County residents get a handle on the high cost of dental care.

The dental discount program, which is not an insurance plan, is available to all residents but primarily designed for people who are uninsured or underinsured.

Health Department Director Margaret Rivello says the card is available for everyone and is relatively hassle free. "There's unlimited usage; no administration fees. You don't have to fill out any forms or file anything. You just have to make sure you're going to a participating provider and there's over 300 of them in Chester County"

The program is part of a national effort to ease the financial burden of health costs during the recession.

For a small annual fee residents will be able to use the card at any participating provider and for discounts as steep as 50 percent for some dental services. The program is similar to a prescription drug discount that was implemented in 2008.
