From Garden Reports

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Where does the money go from the Flower Show?

First, it helps our economy grow as visitors spend over $60 million dollars here during show week. Then, all year long, the proceeds support Pennsylvania Horticultural Society efforts like City Harvest, providing thousands of pounds of fresh produce to families in need. And Philadelphia Green, which helps turn vacant lots and neglected spots into parks by planting flowers, shrubs and trees!
Just announced at this year’s Flower Show, is a commitment to Plant One Million trees in the Tri-State area. For more information, click here.

Planting trees helps keep the air clean, gives us shade, keeps you and your home cooler on hot summer days, and all that green also makes people smile and improves property values while helping to reduce crime and grumpiness. So, the money from the Flower Show really keeps growing for years to come.
