Del. Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Girl, 14

SMYRNA, Del. (CBS) - Delaware State Police have charged a man with sexually assaulting a teenage girl inside his car this past weekend.

Dennis W. Rogers 3rd is facing numerous charges after the alleged incident on Woodland Beach Road in Smyrna late Saturday evening.

According to investigators, State Troopers patrolling the Woodland Beach Parking lot around 11:30 p.m. came across a Jeep Liberty that was parked in the lot afterhours. The car was occupied by the 20-year-old Rogers 3rd and a 14-year-old girl.

The investigation revealed that Rogers engaged in inappropriate conduct with the girl.

Police say Rogers was also in possession of a small quantity of marijuana.

He has been charged with Rape Fourth Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Possession of Marijuana.

Rogers is being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $5,750 cash bond.
