Temple Podiatry Student Starts Forensic Podiatry Club

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A local student has started a club that's one part podiatric medicine and one part CSI.

Michael Sganga, 25, wants to be a podiatrist, but he also wants to help solve crime so he's started a Forensic Podiatry Club which combines both passions at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.

"It's analyzing the suspect's foot or their shoe gear, for a specific wear pattern, specific deformity of a the foot things like that, that can identify a criminal."

He says forensic podiatry is relatively new and his club is the first of its kind so far there have been just four meetings, but the interest is growing.
