Police: Intoxicated Man Arrested After Swinging At Philly Cop

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A suspect was arrested after he allegedly swung at a Philadelphia police officer early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened in the 2000 block of N. 32nd Street in city’s Strawberry Mansion section.

According to investigators, officers were called to the scene for the report of a domestic dispute. When they arrived, they were reportedly confronted by an apparently highly intoxicated male.

Police say the suspect then took a swing at one of the responding officers. After a brief scuffle, the suspect was taken into custody.

The officer was not seriously injured and is expected to be OK.

The incident remains under police investigation.
