PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The snow is not only difficult to trudge through, it also makes life difficult for parents who need to find activities for their kids who have off from school.
Those who work at day cares and early learning centers say they’ve gotten a number of phone calls from parents wondering if they’re open.
“I think they’re really glad that we’re here because some parents cannot call out and just be off every time it snows,” said one childcare provider.
“For me, having had three kids, you have to have someone to support you. Sometimes parents don’t have anyone that they can take their children to.”
Parents say a number of thoughts go through their minds when it snows.
“What I was going to do! Who was going to watch them because I still had to get to work,” said a parent.
This learning center teacher says if you do end up staying at home with the kids, there are lots of things you can do with them.
“Try and mimic as much as possible what’s going on throughout the school day. If you have the blocks and play dough and paint at home, most definitely this is the tie to pull them out.”
