PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Flags are flying at half-staff in Philadelphia today in honor of the PGW employee killed in Tuesday night’s gas explosion in the Tacony section of the city.

Mark Keeley, 19, had been on the job for only a few months.  He started working at PGW in September, shortly after graduating from Cardinal Dougherty High School.

The gas main explosion injured four other PGW employees and a Philadelphia firefighter.  Three of the victims are still in the hospital in critical condition (see previous story).

The cause of the deadly blast is under investigation.

Reported by Margie Smith, KYW Newsradio 1060.

My blessings for his family. However, how well are these workers trained for working around potentially dangerous gas? Do they go to any type of school or do they receive just a textbook and told to report?
