Ukee Washington Honored By Philadelphia MLK, Jr. Association For NonViolence

It started with a dream .... a dream of a vibrant, multiracial nation united in justice, peace and reconciliation. Each year the Philadelphia Martin Luther King, Jr. Association for Nonviolence honors individuals whose deeds embody the vision of Dr. King. This event, the largest in the country, will be held on January 17, 2011 at 12:00pm at the Sheraton Philadelphia City Center Hotel to commemorate Dr. King's birthday. It is the major source of funding for the King Association and its youth development programs. This year, the King Association is proud to present Michael A. Rashid, President and CEO of The AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, with the Drum Major Award for Corporate Social Responsibility and CBS 3/CW Philly anchor Ukee Washington with the Drum Major Award for Communications and Community Empowerment and Frank "Tick" Coleman will posthumously receive the Drum Major Award for Social Justice and Youth Empowerment.
