Red Lips: Finding Your Perfect Shade

"Rudolph with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

"It would be an honor, sir. "

A red nose worked for Rudolph. And this season, red lips can work for you!

Makeup Artist Jacinda Wright of Bernard's Salon & Spa says it's all about finding what shade works best for you!

"Train of thought... the deeper your complexion, the deeper red you can go."

If you're the fairest of them all, take a cue from Snow White and choose classic red.

"She has an ivory complexion with a cherry lip. It's almost like you've been out in the winter too long," explained Wright.

Olive complexions can go a bit deeper ...

"Look for names such as wine, brick red, garnett."

You can go as deep as burgundy or plum for darker skin tones. But, if you're feeling fierce, opt for fire engine red!

Start with smooth, moisturized lips, then use nude liner to really make them pop. Wright recommends starting in the middle and working your way out. She says it's important to go corner to corner when wearing red.

"Then, it's just about being comfortable, wearing a smile ... and really going for it."
