DOUGLASS Twp. (CBS) — A woman was found dead at the scene of a house fire in Montgomery County, Saturday afternoon.

According to fire officials, crews dispatched to the 200 block of Niantic Road in Douglass Township responded to a house fire.

The fire was quickly placed under control just after 3:30 p.m. and an elderly woman was found dead inside. The victim’s identity has not been revealed, pending notification of family.

The American Red Cross also responded to the fire to assist with one person affected by the house fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
