'Cradles To Crayons' Preparing Packages For Poor Kids

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A local organization that provides low-income and homeless children with the things they like and need is offering area families a chance to help with a fundraising event on Saturday.

Saturday's fundraising event called "A Family Time to Give" will offer hundreds of families the chance to help Cradles to Crayons create kid packs for low-income and homeless children. The families will sort through donations of children's toys, games, clothes, and books to create an estimated 4,000 kids packs.

Jennifer Case, founder of Cradles to Crayons, says this is one way for parents to teach children about charity:

"We have different sorting tables and sorting sections going on.  We have a Giventeer area where young children can color and draw wrapping paper or make cards for these disadvantaged children."
