HORSHAM Twp. (CBS) — A teenager found dead in a Montgomery County cemetery has been identified as Nick Carr, a junior at Hatboro-Horsham High School.

Authorities say they received a 911 call Sunday afternoon of suspicious activity at the Whitemarsh Memorial Park mausoleum. When they arrived just before 3:00 p.m., they found Carr’s lifeless body.

Investigators say the 16-year-old Carr died of multiple injuries sustained in a fall of about 120 feet, but they are still trying to figure out what caused Carr to fall to his death.

Classmates and friends attended a vigil that was held at Hatboro-Horsham High School Monday evening to remember Carr.

Grief counselors were on-hand Monday at the school.

School District Superintendent Curtis Griffin released the following statement about the incident:

“As the Superintendent of Hatboro-Horsham School District, the health and wellbeing of our students is one of my top priorities. That is why I was saddened tonight to learn of the death of a teenager believed to be one of our High School students.”

The incident remains under investigation.

It’s a shame that the media can’t leave the Carr family and the high school students alone out of respect. I guess the story’s bigger than human decency.
