Worker Killed In Fall From School Rooftop In Pottstown

POTTSTOWN, Pa. (CBS) — Authorities in Montgomery County say a roofer was killed this morning when he fell while doing repairs at the Hill School in Pottstown.

A second worker was injured in the accident.

A spokesperson for the Hill School says the men were repairing a section of the roof on the school’s heating plant, on the outskirts of the campus, when they fell through the roof, a drop of about 40 feet.

One worker was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was being treated at Reading Hospital for injuries that are described as “serious but not life-threatening.”

An investigation into the deadly incident is ongoing.
