Process Of Revoking Foxwoods' License Inches Forward

HARRISBURG (CBS) - A hearing is scheduled later this month as the process of revoking Foxwoods' casino license continues.

The Gaming Control Board is set to hear oral arguments October 27th on motions for summary judgment in the Foxwoods case. The board's role is essentially akin to that of court with its Office of Enforcement Counsel (OEC) acting as prosecutors.

Earlier this year, the OEC petitioned the board to revoke Foxwoods' license. A board spokesman said the OEC believes there are enough uncontested facts that it is entitled to revocation judgment by the board without a full evidentiary hearing and that the board will hear arguments on that point on the 27th.

The OEC petitioned to revoke Foxwoods' license after casino mogul Steve Wynn abruptly bailed out of a bid to rescue the foundering project.
