North Philly Man Arrested For Groping Nursing Students On Walnut St.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police have charged a 23-year-old North Philadelphia man with several counts of  assault in connection with a groping incident Monday night near 10th and Walnut Streets in center city.

According to the Special Victims Unit of the police department, the incidents took place between 8:30 PM and 9 PM, as five nursing  students were heading home from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

As they approached 10th Street, police say, four of a group of five female students were groped by a man who quickly fled.

The victims were able to give police a good description, and officers on patrol arrested the suspect near 12th and Arch Streets.

Following lengthy questioning, detectives  charged the man, later identified as Johnathan Acevedo of the 600 block of West Dauphin Street, with multiple counts of simple and indecent assault.
