Besides raking and planting and pruning – there’s lots of fun stuff to do in the garden this time of year. Area gardens and arboretums are hosting all kinds of autumn events, and Greater Philadelphia Gardens has collected lots of them into a handy guide to keep your whole family amused this fall.
From cider-making at Bartram’s Gardens to a Costume Parade and trick-or-treating at the Camden Children’s Garden. Take a tour to explore the fall colors at the Jenkins Arboretum – and see and hear their ‘Wind Through the Trees’ Sculpture exhibit while you’re there. Explore the Pumpkin Playground at Longwood Gardens. Or head down to Winterthur Museum and Garden to experience ‘Extreme Pumpkin Carving’ and pick up some tips on how take your jack-o-lantern beyond the ‘two triangle eyes and a semi-circle smile’ I resort to every year.
