Huge Turnout For AIDS Walk In Fairmount Park
Philadelphia (CBS) – Good weather is credited with attracting thousands to the art museum area and the 24th annual Philadelphia AIDS walk.
Events got underway at 8a.m. from Eakins Oval.
Rob Rheichert is the executive director of the Philadelphia AIDS Fund, which sponsors the annual walk.
He says it's most important to keep people of all ages in the region aware of aids and the need to undergo annual testing if you are over 13.
The annual aids fundraiser has two parts; a 5-k race and a 12-k walk.
