Frustrated Citizens To Hold Town Hall Over PPA Policies

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Frustrated citizens fed up with what they call unfair Philadelphia Parking Authority Policies are holding a town hall meeting tomorrow morning, all are invited to air grievances.

Community Activist Lawrence Clark and the People's Choice Movement are sponsoring the event, Clark says 7-months of protestors and letter writing to the PPA and elected officials have fell on deaf ears.

"And right now it looks like the PPA policies are getting stricter and stricter. It used to be anything over $100 you used to be on the boot list. Now anything under a $100 you are on the boot list, this has to be dealt with."

Clark says they also want policies revised so people can make payment arrangements to get their cars out. They are also seeking a moratorium on car auctions until this is worked out.

"Freeze the auction of all vehicles. Also, who monitors the PPA, we don't know who to put our complaints into."

The meeting takes place tomorrow at the Berean Institute at 19th and Girard from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attorneys will be on hand to advise those who need it.
