A local tango studio is offering free tango lessons in Ardmore every third saturday of the month, hoping for a return to what the director calls social dancing.
At one time, America will filled with dance halls or commuities held public dances, where people would gather and socialize.
Media Tango instructor Lori Coyle wants to bring that back as a way to help people reconnect with themselves and their communities.
“We believe that tango should be accessible to all because we really believe in the art of social dancing to connect people. So we wanted to have an outdoor tango event.”
So every third Saturday, Lori and her instructors will give free tango lessons to whomever shows up at Suburban Square at 4pm.
During the winter and in inclement weather, Coyle hopes to work with Suburban Square to hold the classes indoors.
