Public Invited To Participate In Mural Painting At The Gallery

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Mural Arts Program is inviting the community out to help paint one of its largest murals yet.  Community Paint Day is Saturday at 1p.m. at The Gallery on Market Street.

The Mural Arts Program is inviting one and all to the Gallery on Saturday to help paint a massive 50,000 square foot mural - How Philly Moves - which will be placed across the parking decks facing I-95 at the Philadelphia International Airport.

Judy Hellman, director of Special Projects for Mural Arts, says it'll be a paint by numbers project:

"There is absolutely no experience necessary. Anyone and everyone is welcome."

There'll be a Mural Arts studio installed in the Gallery until the project is finished next spring.

Maureen Brady Weir is marketing director for the Gallery:

"It's wonderful for us and it's also wonderful in giving exposure to the Mural program to the many people that come through our center.

You can see what the mural will look like in the photo above. More information at www.howphillymoves.org.
