HARTLY, Del. (CBS) — Delaware State Police arrested a couple after they found marijuana plants growing in a toddler’s bedroom.
Stephen J. Freeman, 22, and Kristy A. Larlham, 19, are facing several charges in connection to the incident early Tuesday morning at their Hartly, Delaware home.
According to police, the incident began when officers were called to the couple’s home for a domestic disturbance.
When police arrived, they were apparently overwhelmed by the smell of marijuana emitting throughout the residence.
After searching the home, police found 15 marijuana plants growing in the bedroom of the couple’s 1 and 1/2 year-old child. In addition, police also found 42 Oxycodone pills, $418 in cash and other paraphernalia used to grow marijuana.
Freeman and Larlham are facing numerous charges, including Manufacturing Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Both Freeman and Larlham were each released on $13,000 unsecured bond.
The Division of Families Services was notified about the child being present in the living conditions.
