WEST PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Mural Arts month begins in Philadelphia with the announcement of a new mural to be painted in West Philadelphia to celebrate the anniversary of Bryn Mawr College.
To celebrate the 125th anniversary of Bryn Mawr College, the school is partnering with the Mural Arts program to create a mural in West Philadelphia highlighting advances in the education of women.
Bryn Mawr president Jane McAcAuliffe:
“As a college, Bryn Mawr is connected with the city. Our students are in and out of the city all the time, they’re involved in internships and civic engagement work throughout the city and the Philadelphia area.”
The mural will be painted next spring on the side of the Philadelphia District health center at 4400 Haverford Avenue. Bryn Mawr students, faculty, and staff will joined with students at the nearby Parkway West High school and members of the surrounding community to paint the mural.
