Philadelphians Honor Those Killed on 9/11

Memorial services commemorating the ninth anniversary of the September11th attacks took place across the country. One such ceremony took place in Old City.

KYW's Hadas Kuznits reports Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter was among the dignitaries, who gathered at the Betsy Ross house to remember the events of September 11th, 2001:

"We can never forget those who gave their lives."

Michael Axelrod with the Philadelphia Flag Day Association asked that memorial bell be sounded:

"In memory of 23 New York City police officers, sound the bell. In memory of 37 Port Authority police officers sound the bell. In memory of 343 New York City fire fighters and paramedics sound the bell. And in memory of all 2,819 victims please sound the memorial bell."
