Law Firm Says It Got Axed Over PHA Disclosure Clash

A law firm that worked on sexual harassment cases involving Philadelphia housing director Carl Greene (photo) says it was fired after insisting Greene's supervisors be told of the allegations.

Cozen O'Connor president Thomas "Tad" Decker says the firm worked on two cases that led to large settlements with women employees of the Philadelphia Housing Authority.

Decker says Cozen lawyers thought the board knew about the first settlement, and demanded the board hear about the second, a $350,000 payout. He says the firm was then dismissed.

Greene's lawyer, Clifford Haines, says he knows nothing about the firing.

Greene is on leave while his board of directors investigate how the complaints -- and settlements -- were kept secret.
