Lower Merion Police Seek Well Dressed Bank Robber

Lower Merion police  have few leads on a well-dressed bandit who held up a Wachovia Bank branch on Lancaster Avenue last Friday.

KYW's Al Novack reports the FBI and police say the bandit wore a well-pressed and very dapper business suit along with fashionable sunglasses, a not-so-fashionable dust mask, and a seemingly old ski cap.

He is described as a man in his 30s who is about 6' 3" tall.

He was armed with a silver handgun, but no shots were fired and no one was hurt. He was given an undisclosed amount of money by the teller.

Upon fleeing the bank, he fled over a field on the north side of the Haverford College campus and hasn't been seen since.

Investigators continue to study surveillance video to determine if there are any similarities to other robberies in the Philadelphia area. So far, there have been no arrests.
