PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― An off-duty Philadelphia firefighter was killed in a motorcycle accident in West Philadelphia Saturday evening.
According to authorities, the Engine 5 firefighter, identified as Odell Pommells, was heading home from work when his motorcycle was struck by a pick-up truck just after 6:30 p.m.
Pommells was taken from the scene of the accident at Lancaster and Wyalusing Avenues in critical condition to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was later pronounced dead.
