School Supply Drive in S. Jersey Gets Extended

Operation Backpack has been extended until August 23rd so you still have time to donate backpacks and school supplies for kids in South Jersey.

KYW’s Karin Phillips reports the non-profit Center For Family Services in Camden supports and empowers families and individuals to achieve a better life and part of that mission is Operation Backpack, an annual drive to collect backpacks and school supplies for kids 4 to 19 who could use a better start this school year.

This year’s goal:  at least 1500 backpacks and as many school supplies as possible.

Mary Beth Woodward is communications coordinator for CFFS:

“The need is probably greater than ever this year with the way the economy is so we’re really trying to get out in the community and get as many people to donate.”

The deadline is August 23rd.  There’s a list of drop-off sites at CenterFFS.org.
